Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral – 19 Years Old

      I say this quite often these days but NIN's The Downward Spiral being 19 years old really makes me feel old. I remember this CD being on all the time, and knowing every "bit" of it, it was and still in a modern musical masterpiece.
    I saw them live in concert twice that year…the show took the album to a whole other place…I can still remember as NIN took the stage at Molson Park we looked up and these birds were flying over and the sun was going down…it gives me shivers to type that.

Nine Inch Nails Are Back

    

    So it seems as though Trent Reznor has decided to awaken Nine Inch Nails from it's four year slumber according to a story from Pitchfork. 

    Plans for a tour to begin with some shows this summer and a full on tour this fall and to continue into 2014 is just some of the news he announced in a note, also a new band that includes: Trent of course, Eric Avery of Jane's Addiction, Adrian Belew of King Crimson, Josh Eustis of electronic act Telefon Tel Aviv, as well as previous NIN collaborators Alessandro Cortini and Ilan Rubin.

Elton John and Queens Of The Stone Age ? Why Not

   What's going on? Has the music industry always been like this or is it just getting weirder as the years go on (or maybe it's just me), anyways here is today's "different" music news.

   So Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters..you know the guy) is filling in for Chelsea Handler this week on the late-night talk show Chelsea Lately. Last night he had on as a guest Sir Elton John ("Rocket Man", "The Bitch Is Back","I'm Still Standing"...yeah him) , so during the conversation Grohl says "Recently, Elton and I recorded something together. Something that people wouldn't imagine the two of us doing together," , then Elton adds "I was in Vegas and I flew back to LA and Engelbert Humperdinck had written me a very sweet letter and asked me to sing a duet with him. He is part of my history and I couldn't say no so I went and recorded a song with him. Then I drove three blocks and went from Engelbert to Queens Of The Stone Age, which was a bit of a mindfuck."

 With Trent Reznor also rumored to be guesting on the record this should be quite the listen.

Trent Reznor's How to destroy angels release new video for "How long?"

   Trent Reznor's How to destroy angels have released a video for the song "How long?" which will be included on their upcoming album 'Welcome oblivion' which will be released via Columbia March the 5^th. 

   The video for the song is set in some post-apocalyptic world or maybe even an alternate universe, either way its dark, it's bleak and it's evil…and it goes with the track perfectly. Trent Reznor's wife Mariqueen Maandig Reznor is the female vocal and I have to admit her voice just melts my speakers when she sings. She's that good.

 How to destroy angels will make their live debut at this years Coachella.

Trent Reznor's How to Destroy Angels releases New Video and LP Details

    If you're tired of waiting for some new Nine Inch Nails material Trent Reznor's side project How To Destroy Angels has released a new video called "The loop closes," it's taken from their 2012 EP An Omen, plus a date of March the 5^th has been given for the release of their forthcoming full-length, Welcome oblivion. Another bit of Trent news, he will appear on the new Queens of the Stone Age record.
