The Crackling – "The Crackling" [Listen]

Even after all these years I still get excited when I get sent new music, and today was no different.
Take a listen to The Crackling's latest single "The Crackling" here on Sonic More Music, the song drives a blues inundated Tom Waits sound all the way down south, it will make you cry for more....and more you will get when their sophomore album Mary Magdalene will be available in North America on April 23, 2013 via File Under: Music.

Ron Sexsmith Live at London's Royal Albert Hall

Tonight at London's Royal Albert Hall one of Canada's preeminent Singer/Songwriters takes the stage for his first headlining show there, that person is no other than Mr. Ron Sexsmith. So to celebrate tonight's gig I thought I would play a song he performed a few years ago on the British TV show 'Later... with Jools Holland' playing alongside Jools Holland, the song is called "Just My Heart Talking".

Our Lady Peace - ? – Barrie, Ontario

So here's the dilemma, I remember going to see Our Lady Peace at the Brookdale in Barrie, I remember Salvador Dream opening, I also remember that drummer Jeremy Taggart was still underage so they made a deal he could play in the bar area but when he wasn't playing he had to stay up at the merch table near the front. I checked and it wasn't '95 because they were in the US at around that time, so it was either '94 or earlier…..it was an early show in their career because it wasn't a huge crowd, I'm pretty sure we went to just see Salvador Dream because we were digging their CD “UR”.

So if you were at the show let me know.

Men at Work Business as Usual

In the "I always wondered what was up with that" file; today we look at the color of Men at Work's million selling debut album Business as Usual. It was originally one of my first records that I bought, and the version I had was black and yellow, but over the years I have seen copies that were black and white..so what's the deal? Well it turns out the black and white version is the original Australian release…so there ya go, a useless fact that you can amaze and astound your friends and family members with.
Also did you also know that it was Canada that first helped them break into the North American market…it's a fact.

Lollapalooza '92 Molson Park Barrie

When can you remember the last time you could see the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Ministry, Soundgarden, The Jesus and Mary Chain all on one bill for only $29.25 Dollars? You can't? didn't think so.
The days of Molson Park shows are long gone now so all we have is our memories, memories like Uncle Al and Ministry taking charge of the main stage and showing everyone how it's done.

What do you do when Pete Townshend of The Who tells you to "F--- off" ?

I have watched this video now a few times and Pete Townshend just comes across as one of those old geezers in Wal Mart that starts swearing at anything and you either feel bad for them or tell them to Fuck Off.

Reading the back story ; the kid loved The Who and her Dad got tickets for the show in Hamilton the other night, they came all the way up from the states, she makes this sign that says "Smash your guitar Pete", it's at the end of the first set so her Dad puts her on his shoulders and they move up a bit, then old Pete lets loose on him  "Go away with that sign, please," Townshend says. "Don't bring your children, use them. I would tell you two words but I can't because you've got a child with you.", he then mouths the words "Fuck Off"……classy Pete real classy.
