My Concert Ticket Stubs - Nirvana – Maple Leaf Gardens – 1993

Who could have known that four and a half months Kurt would be dead and Nirvana along with him, but seeing Nirvana live is one of my top 10 concerts of all-time. We didn't have the greatest seats (I remember us jumping down a few sections) but we were there and at the time they were still the biggest band in the world, so even as cheesy as it sounds we were all watching music history. Interesting note; by this time they had stopped playing "Smells Like Teen Spirit" live, so when it was all over the ones that went just for that one song were all pissed off, but I remember thinking how very cool it was that they didn't play it....how Punk.

Thanks to our good friend YouTube I found the complete show (well 99% complete).

Soundgarden debut new video 'By Crooked Steps' directed by Dave Grohl

Here's the latest video from Soundgarden called 'By Crooked Steps', the single comes from their album 'King Animal' which came out last November. The video was directed by Dave Grohl. He's got the Soundgarden guys tooling around LA on Segways while cops chase them. At the very end of the video the one cop turns out to be Joel Zimmerman AKA Deadmau5…the whole thing is pretty silly but I think that was the point of it.

Check it out right here\/

Courtney Love covers Jay-Z’s ’99 Problems’

Have to say first is I'm a fan of the original, don't ask me why I just dig it, so when I read about this I was a bit scared to check it out…..but in my opinion she pulls it off, it actually takes the song to a different place…if that's possible.

OK enough of my rambling, here's what I'm going to do…first watch the original by Jay-Z (with my Brotha from another mutha  Rick Rubin) , then check out Courtney's cover and let me know what you think.

Will the Kurt Cobain documentary be this generations "The Wall"?

Documentarian Brett Morgen who's most recent work includes the documentary
'The Rolling Stones - Crossfire Hurricane' is hard at work on the yet to be titled, Courtney Love-approved documentary about the late Kurt Cobain.
In a recent interview with the NME Morgen said "We're hoping the Cobain film, that'll hopefully be released in 2014, will be this generation's The Wall – a mix of animation and live action that'll allow the audience to experience Kurt in a way they never have before. It's very ambitious."
Morgen also added "If you think about Kurt, he's a contradiction. He could be sincere and sentimental, and also ironic and sarcastic. He was sweet and sour. He was incredibly funny too, and the film has to reflect his spirit."

Was Kurt Cobain Superman?

According to a Tweet from former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic he once knocked on Kurt Cobain's apartment door and when Cobain answered he started singing "Superman" by R.E.M….not really music news but I love stuff like this.
