2012 Mariposa Folk Festival Announces Friday Evening Headliner

Mariposa Folk Festival has announced Montréal-based Plants and Animals as headliner on the Friday evening main stage. The Festival previously announced Saturday headliner, Jann Arden, and Sunday co-headliners, Billy Bragg and Johnny Clegg. Additional artistic announcements will be made in the coming weeks.

About today’s announcement, Artistic Director, Mike Hill, said “Plants and Animals illustrates the wide range of music at Mariposa. They are a crowd-pleasing band and, even though they may not be considered folk, they are a great fit for a progressive folk festival like Mariposa.”

Mariposa Folk Festival takes place July 6-8, 2012, in Orillia, Ontario, Canada. Tickets are on sale at www.mariposafolk.com. Children 12 and under free! Discounted tickets are available for Youth and Young Adults. Audience camping is also available.
